I have the honour to refer to Sir Mark Young's
(9) despatch No. 35 of 9th July, 1946, on the subject of the
effects of internment on European children and to enclose for
your information a report prepared by the Director of Education
on the present standards of education among children who have
been educated either in internment or outside the Colony during
the war.
2.
You will observe that only paragraphs 6, 9 and 10 deal
specifically with the education of children in Stanley Internment
Camp but the complete report is of general interest in providing
an estimate of the comparative value of education received in
different countries.

A further report will be submitted in twelve months'
time.
